JOHNNY RAMOS
My name is Johnny Ramos, and I would like to take this opportunity to extend my
thanks for allowing me to present myself as a candidate for the Board of Directors.
As a person living with Vitiligo, it is indeed an honor and a privilege to be
considered for membership in your esteemed organization.
I have had Vitiligo for most of my life. Similar to many who have been diagnosed with Vitiligo,
I have endured personal struggles with accepting the disease. Vitiligo had taken its toll on me
physically, psychologically, and socially.
Over time, I have come to accept this disease through the strong support from friends and family.
This support system has helped me obtain the professional success and personal growth that was once
thought unattainable because of the disease.
I have chosen not to allow Vitiligo to suppress my ambition, drive, or determination in achieving
my personal and professional goals. Academically, I obtained an undergraduate degree with a double
major in Accounting and Business Administration; and then continued my educational pursuits and earned
an MBA with an emphasis in International Business. Professionally, my career has advanced from the level
of Junior Accountant to a position of Controller. Currently, I am fully engaged as a Financial Consultant
provide expertise to various companies in the local area by contract. Additionally, I function as an
adjunct Accounting Instructor and serve as an active member of the Board of Directors at Lakeland College.
One of my personal objectives includes providing motivation and guidance to others living with Vitiligo.
I also want to increase the public's awareness and understanding of this disease and how it can affect
individuals. Being accepted as the newest member of the Board would greatly assist me with the
accomplishment of these endeavors.
I am ready to commit the time necessary to be a successful and productive member of the Board of Directors.
If given the opportunity to become a member of the Board, I can guarantee you the same dedication and
passion I have for life, will be the same dedication and passion I have for supporting, motivating, and
educating others living with Vitiligo.
Again, thank you for this opportunity to be considered for membership on the Board.
Sincerely,
Johnny Ramos
