Wins AAD's Gold Triangle Award
At NYC Gala

Recognizing excellence in public education of dermatology issues
New York, NY (April 26, 2001) - The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) saluted The National Vitiligo Foundation and 73 other winners of its fifth annual Gold Triangle Awards at the Hilton & Towers in New York City. The National Vitiligo Foundation earned this award for their impressive, information-packed website. The winners represented media, industry, health organizations, individuals, and public service officials that have made a significant contribution in helping raise awareness of dermatology issues and have encouraged the American public to develop healthy skin habits and begin a lifetime of healthier skin.

The AAD gala provided many memorable moments. Several exciting celebrities were on hand to present the winners, including well-known actresses Connie Stevens, Diane Baker and Tonja Walker-Davidson.

Dr. Ronald Wheeland, AAD president, hosted the event. He said of the winners, "It's my honor to recognize the outstanding contributions of these organizations and individuals. Their achievements have been important in bringing the issues of dermatology closer to the American public. Because of their efforts, the quality of life for many people has significantly improved."
