Research Report: University of Colorado We would like to thank the many hundreds of NVF members who have responded to our vitiligo study questionnaire posted on the NVF website. Thanks to your help, and that of the membership of the Vitiligo Society in England, we have gained a much better knowledge of the natural history and genetics of vitiligo. We have identified dozens of families that will be very helpful in our studies aimed at finding the genes that cause vitiligo. These studies will take years, and we are contacting respondents from large "vitiligo families" first; smaller families and people with no other family members who have vitiligo will come later. Because we have received more than 2300 responses from around the world, we cannot thank each of you individually, but we hope you will understand and accept this general letter of our appreciation and gratitude. These studies are still ongoing and will be for some time. So please feel free to continue to send in questionnaires if you have not already done so. With best wishes for you and your family, PEASE TAKE A MOMENT AND PROVIDE YOUR INPUT TO MY QUESTIONNAIRE Richard A. Spritz, M.D. Human Medical Genetics Program E-mail: Richard.Spritz@UCHSC.edu |
